THE Mwanza Regional Basketball (MRBA) League has been postponed to next weekend, the volleyball body’s official confirmed yesterday.
The regional volleyball RBA league’s coordinator, Kizito Bahati has confirmed the league has been pushed forward to give a room for a completion of the new court at Mirongo Primary school.
“We were expecting our court to have been completed this weekend. The constructors have failed to provide the ground on time, therefore we have now decse other courts in order to finish the league on a scheduled date,’’ he said.
The former Mwanza hero and national team player said they will now use St Augustine University of Tanzania(SAUT), Butimba Teachers Training College(T.T.C), Bank of Tanzania(B.O.T) and Mwanza Eagles Courts.
Meanwhile, Bahati said they have already prepared the fixture for the league and they have grouped teams in two groups A and B.
Group A comprises of Mwanza Profile, Catholic Allied of Health and Sciences (CUHAS), Mwanza Eagles, Hoops, Kisesa, St Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT) and Mwanza Dolphins.
Group B teams include Mwanza planet, Bugando Heats, Bugando warriors, St Francis, Babylon Force na Butimba Spiders. He called upon various basketball stakeholders to come and support the regional league.
According to him, the league will be used to select best players who will represent the region in the Taifa cup tournament to be held in November this year.
