TIGHT race is expected for the Executive Committee positions, representing various regions at the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Election at the St. Gasper Hotel in Dodoma today.
It is expected to be a close race as each region has attracted a good number of candidates battling for a place to represent their respective regions. Candidates vying for the slot through Zone One, representing Kagera and Geita regions are: Saloum Chama, Leopold Mukebezi and Kaliro Samson, while Zone Two, representing Mara and Mwanza regions has attracted Aaron Nyanda, Vedastus Lufano and Samwel Daniel.
Zone Three (Shinyanga and Simiyu) has attracted Stanslaus Nyongo and Mbasha Matutu, while Zone Four (Arusha and Manyara) will see Omar Walii, Sarah Chao and Peter Temu battling for the position.
Candidates eying for a slot through Zone Five (Kigoma and Tabora) are John Kadutu, Issa Bukuku, Abubakar Zebo and Francis Michael, while Kenneth Pesambili and Baraka Mazengo–have all been cleared to contest for a slot through Zone Six (Katavi and Rukwa).
Zone Seven (Mbeya and Iringa) has attracted Cyprian Kuyava and Erick Ambakisye, while Zone Eight (Njombe and Ruvuma) will see a close battle pitting James Mhagama, Golden Sanga, Vicent Majili and Yono Kevela.
Lindi and Mtwara regions, categorized as Zone Nine has attracted Athumani Kambi and Dunstan Mkundi, while Zone Ten (Dodoma and Singida) has Hussein Mwamba, Steward Masima, Ally Suru and George Komba.
Candidates cleared to contest through Zone 11, (Morogoro) are Charles Mwakambaya, Gabriel Mkwawe and Francis Ndulane, while Zone 12 (Kilimanjaro and Tanga) will see Khalid Mohamed and Godluck Moshi battling for the post.
Zone 13 (Dar es Salaam) has drawn the largest number of contestants, who are Emmanuel Kazimoto, Abdul Sauko, Ayoub Nyenzi, Peter Mhinzi, Lameck Nyambaya, Mussa Kissoky, Said Tully, Ally Kamtande, Aziz Khalfan, Ramadhani Nassib, Jamhuri Kihwelo and Saad Kawemba.
